  1. I was a classmate of Dan’s in 1978 and we rode the bus to school together – Decatur Central HS. Needless to say, it was quite traumatic when the bodies were discovered and Dan’s seat was empty the following Monday. This also occurred the same weekend that the Jonestown massacre took place – Jim Jones being an Indiana alum – so it was a surreal few days to say the least.

    1. I’m so sorry about your classmate. I cannot imagine the trauma for the kids who knew them.

    1. I did not work with law enforcement on this episode. If you have tips or information on the case, you should contact them directly.

      1. I’m curious as to why LJS asked about Jeff Reed being questioned after listening to the podcast and not hearing his name mentioned. I had know Jeff my whole life, and know at the time and that he was bearded and lived/ran around Speedway/westside. I remember another news report from WTHR stating the suspected bearded man was found living in Johnson County. That said, I also remember overhearing conversations as a kid of Jeff being questioned. Thank you for any insight you can give on why you think Jeff was involved.

  2. Thank you so much for putting together this podcast. I wanted to ask you to do a podcast but it not being in Michigan, I decided otherwise. I was raised in Brownsburg, Indiana. I was in eighth grade at the time and it was so hard to imagine what a painful death. It still bothers me even to this day.

I listen to all of your podcast and enjoy them very much. I have my husband hooked on them now.

      1. My earlier comment was before I actually listened to the podcast.
I was told the four employees were put into the freezer to die. Knowing now how they were really killed doesn’t seem as horrific as freezing to death.
I believe it had to be the media I heard about the freezer. It would have not been my parents.
        Either way it’s sad.
