Amazing
Took me roughly 3 weeks to listen to all 153 episodes and I finish today(makes the day go by faster), so I'm super day now! Keep doing an amazing job.
One of the best cold case podcasts!
Nina Innstead and her writers do a fantastic job balancing facts with theories and commentary—heavy on the facts. Speculation and opinion are only a small part of this podcast, and they are always thoughtful. Victims and families are treated with respect. I like the tone of this podcast because it’s about bringing attention to the cases, not the narrator. However, Innstead’s voice is pleasant and soothing. I’m strongly interested in true crime but prefer a serious and journalistic approach; Already Gone is one of my can’t-miss podcasts.
ONE OF THE BEST!
Nina does an amazing job researching and presenting the cases. Her voice is soothing and calm which helps when dealing with the subject matter and her delivery is flawless. I’m always impressed as a faithful listener and I’m so glad I found this podcast!
One of my favorites
Nina and her team do a fantastic job with Already Gone. She respects the victims and their stories, while giving comprehensive coverage on their cases. She has even offered advice to me when I reached out on starting my own true crime podcast which is more than generous of her. Listen to Already Gone, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Just started listening, can’t stop-
I work from home now, and have been searching for great podcasts. Nina does a marvelous job of staying true to stories, being unbiased, and delivering facts in a creepily calming way. But I love it. I am a MI native and am obsessed with this podcast.
Super good
Wish she released more frequently!

I love the voice of Nina Instead, Ninas voice is very calming
a modern classic
One of the very best out there. This podcast has it all.
A good one
But please, make the episodes longer!
Always, always, always an undeniably incredible listen!
Nina!!! I love that you cover these Michigan cases! My jaw drops and my eyebrows raise every single time I hear a familiar location. The Bryon Hoffmeister episode was the best because I live in Berkley! Great job Nina! High praise
Underrated podcast
Already gone is a great example of why people are interested in true crime. Nina presents each case by telling the story of the victim. Her commentary honours the victims and their families. Well researched and the story is paced so that you can understand the full scope of the story. Nina is very respectful of the audience by giving warnings to gruesome or unsettling moments.
My favorite podcast
This is my very first review of a podcast although I’ve been thinking of doing it for some time. I listen to mostly true crime podcasts and this was one of the first I downloaded. It is my favorite by far! The host is very detail oriented, and she covers the victims and the suspects throughly. I love that she is so gracious concerning grieving family. She often interviews family members. My only wish is that she would cover every state like she does Michigan which is dear to her heart. I highly recommend.
Great storytelling
The host has a soothing calm voice contrary to the tragic story she is telling. She paints a picture with details about the location, history and people involved. Always keeping ,you the listener, hooked for the duration!! Definitely binge worthy!!
Very enjoyable
Well researched, minimal “filler”, respectful, interesting and pleasant to listen to.
One of the best crime casts
Host has a calming voice and tells these stories with intelligence and appropriate emotion. Details well-researched. Love this cast!
Podcast
Love love you!!
Love you Nina!! Redo Edmund Fitzgerald epi plz?!
One of the very best true crime podcasts featuring the most beautiful voice in podcasting (Nina Innsted’s gentle voice sounds like softly falling rain)! “Come with me to a warm night in...” Nina begins each episode with a version of this beautiful, fairy-tale like phrase, “come with me,” inviting us to the time period of each case, but these tales are not happy ones, and Nina tells us these true histories with an empathy and care that is unmatched. “Already Gone” is one of the very best serious true crime podcasts, full stop. Initially Nina focused on cases in Michigan but she has branched out as her life circumstances have changed (she has moved away from Michigan). Nina does not waste time on comedic banter or flamboyant theorizing or attempts to impress us with interpretations of “symbolism” or the other garbage that under-researched true crime podcasts resort to these days. We know that there are far too many mediocre true crime podcasts; Nina’s podcast is superb — insightful. Nina and her podcast have been steadily producing excellent content for years. i have only one request: someday, Nina, could you redo your episode on the Edmund Fitzgerald? I was one of the people who kept begging you to do the Edmund Fitzgerald episode since it’s one of Michigan’s most famous cases, the Captain and his crew deserve to be remembered at every chance, and it seemed to fit with your episodes on Michigan. But I was disappointed by the episode as it seemed very disconnected from the men and their story. It was too rushed and detached. I know it’s a tough subject but their story deserves to be told — and unlike other “true crime” or “disaster” stories very few podcasts have honored the Fitz and her men. You are by far the best candidate!
Addicting
I absolutely love this podcast. I started from the beginning. I was looking for a crime podcast that goes straight into the crime. A lot of crime podcasts focus too much on the hosts day to day random conversations not related etc and I don’t particularly like those... SHE GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE STORY. The audio, content, editing got so much better. Not that it wasn’t before. I simply mean I loved watching it evolve. There are many cases I had absolutely no idea about which is so important awareness is key and those victims get to never be forgotten. Her voice is soothing & captivating. Narrating skills are so good, deff should do Audiobooks. I am a fan and strongly recommend.
Awesome podcast
Have been listening to this podcast for well over a year, always quality production. Like others, I think my being from Michigan (now living in Ohio) makes them more relatable. Wish the other commenters would get over the ads issue, you explained what happened and that it was being addressed. Frankly, if I’m being honest, I’m surprised so many actually even pay attention to ads. Am I the only one that disengages from pods for the duration of ads? Or ffwd over them? I can’t be. And while you may have Patreon support, I find it funny that anyone would think that alone pays the bills for time and effort put into investigation and creation of a podcast. It surely does for some true crime podcasts, but for the vast majority - not even close. Keep up the good work, it’s awesome. Also, I hope you can someday dive back into the OCCK case. Just seems like there is so much still there, hiding *just* beneath the surface.
Thanks
For doing your best to keep it apolitical.🙏🏻
Love it
Love this podcast. Only been listening for over a week. Love it. Listen daily to hear them all. Being from Michigan myself its all to good to hear these.
Absolutely wonderful podcast
Nina tells these stories in a way that is incredibly thorough, thoughtful, respectful, engaging, and professional. Hands down one of my favorite podcasts out there.
Is this podcast for BIPOC?
Just heard a biased ad and made me rethink listening to this whole podcast. Sigh... “We can protest but not go to church, vote for a Trump Supporter” this is just disheartening. As a person of color, maybe this isn’t a podcast for me. And looking through the line up, I’m afraid it isn’t
❤️❤️❤️ I love this podcast! ❤️❤️❤️
I have listened to Nina since the beginning and always look forward to the 1st and 15th of the month for new episodes.
