Love you Nina!! Redo Edmund Fitzgerald epi plz?!

One of the very best true crime podcasts featuring the most beautiful voice in podcasting (Nina Innsted’s gentle voice sounds like softly falling rain)! “Come with me to a warm night in...” Nina begins each episode with a version of this beautiful, fairy-tale like phrase, “come with me,” inviting us to the time period of each case, but these tales are not happy ones, and Nina tells us these true histories with an empathy and care that is unmatched. “Already Gone” is one of the very best serious true crime podcasts, full stop. Initially Nina focused on cases in Michigan but she has branched out as her life circumstances have changed (she has moved away from Michigan).

Nina does not waste time on comedic banter or flamboyant theorizing or attempts to impress us with interpretations of “symbolism” or the other garbage that under-researched true crime podcasts resort to these days. We know that there are far too many mediocre true crime podcasts; Nina’s podcast is superb — insightful. Nina and her podcast have been steadily producing excellent content for years.

i have only one request: someday, Nina, could you redo your episode on the Edmund Fitzgerald? I was one of the people who kept begging you to do the Edmund Fitzgerald episode since it’s one of Michigan’s most famous cases, the Captain and his crew deserve to be remembered at every chance, and it seemed to fit with your episodes on Michigan. But I was disappointed by the episode as it seemed very disconnected from the men and their story. It was too rushed and detached. I know it’s a tough subject but their story deserves to be told — and unlike other “true crime” or “disaster” stories very few podcasts have honored the Fitz and her men. You are by far the best candidate!
